Everything You Need to Know About PlayFitt’s Glow Up

If you’re reading this right now, you’ve probably realized PlayFitt had a bit of glow up, ok a lot a bit. I’m here to answer all of your whats, wheres, and whys!

The short answer? We’ve been inspired by feedback from our active community and wanted to do something to show our appreciation.


The long answer? This upgraded version of PlayFitt is an ode to saying ‘screw’ the traditional fitness industry and their delusional standards. Small movements is all it takes to live a healthier and happier life. No seriously, small movements throughout your day can increase your chances of living a longer life by 35%. Adios to unrealistic expectations, unattainable goals, and boring movements.


I guess you could say we’re not like other fitness apps, but you already knew that. PlayFitt is designed for everybody and every body. As the Backstreet Boys once said, “I don’t care who you are, where you’re from, what you did, as long as you reach your movement goals throughout the day.”, or something along those lines. All joking aside, we definitely DO care about becoming more inclusive and representative of our community.


Ok we get it, but what actually changed?

To help clarify some of our recent changes, here’s a bite-sized run through:


Pep Points

Think of Pep points as your movement score, like in any other game or sport, your score determines where you stand against your competition. It’s what ranks you in the Leaderboard divisions, or should I say Clubs? I’ll get to this one in a second. So why should you care about Pep points? Well because it’s a game, duh!


Power-ups

Power-ups are the ultimate game changer. Use them to accelerate your progress or boost your strengths. By buying them at the Shop (formerly known as the Marketplace) you’ll actually earn more for your movement. A.k.a. more Pep points that will help you level up quicker!

Psst… Members earn 3x the amount of Grit coins than non-members. Do with that information what you will.


Daily and Weekly Goals

Missions were fun, but what you’re really doing is completing small movement goals throughout your day. So, let’s call a spade a spade. Reaching your daily and weekly goals is what makes movement your best habit. Sounds brag worthy to me.


Breakthroughs

The new Milestones and badges. Taking steps towards a healthier lifestyle isn’t a one-and-done, it’s a continuous decision to work on bettering yourself. Choosing to stay consistent with your movement, that’s what deserves to be recognized. Breakthroughs are a reminder of how far you’ve come and how far you’ve yet to go.


Clubs

As hinted at earlier on, ‘Clubs’ is the new PlayFitt lingo for Leaderboard divisions. Same concept, different name. I mean who doesn’t want to be in the CEOs of Moving Club? Movement is your entry, no guestlist, just progress.


In Short

This year has been full of change, so we thought we’d remain on trend and do the same. I think it’s about time we start getting hooked on bettering ourselves. It’s a pretty simple ask, take care of your body and it’ll return the favour. Simply getting up from bed in the morning, taking out the trash, getting yourself a glass of water, or checking the mail, is productive for your mind and body.


Move for yourself, whatever that may look like. Even if that means squatting while holding onto a watermelon, or turning your movement break into a dance party of one. No athleisure, nor equipment required. Just the smartphone in your pocket.


Everyone could use a friendly reminder that they’re capable of transforming their entire well-being. So here’s yours, if you want to live big all it takes is moving small. You got this.
